In 2019, KDT led a financing round at a $1 billion valuation in Ibotta, the leading mobile rewards platform in the United States. Ibotta, which has more than 35 million downloads, combines cashback rewards for its users with a mobile payment system that has the potential to make it a key player in the $100 trillion global payments market.

Investment: Desktop Metal

In 2019, KDT led a $160 million investment in Desktop Metal, a revolutionary company on the leading edge of making metal 3D printing a reality. The promise of 3D metal printing lies in its potential to disrupt multiple links in the value chain from design and fabrication, to shipping and logistics, to the idea of what “inventory on hand” even means. It is more than a replacement for existing metalworking techniques -- it’s a step-change in the design of metal parts that will allow us to build things we haven’t yet dreamed or that were previously considered impossible to create.
